According to their website at, National Marina Days is a nationwide boating event to grow boating participation across North America.

National Marina Day as it was named in it’s early years has now grown into National Marina Days plural. Now in its 17th year, the event has involved into a day of celebrating marinas and the important role they play in our communities. This is also the second consecutive year that it has turned into a “Summer of Giving” and will begin on June 9th with events held nationwide through Labor Day. Marina operators use the day to grow boating participation and give back to the supportive communities they serve. The variety of events that are held expands each year and is only limited to the creativity of the marina operators who participate. Each respective marina raises funds for the charity of its choice.

Locally, a group of St. Croix marinas will be holding their 2nd annual golf outing following last year’s successful inaugural event. Funds raised at their outing benefit Folds of Honor, a charity that assists military families. That event is held on June 25th this year at Troy Burne Golf Club in Hudson. Contact Melinda Tasker at the Port of Sunnyside for more information on that event. Check with your favorite marina to find out how and when they will be celebrating National Marina Days.
