As soon as you visit Bayport Marina you’ll immediately get the impression that this is a very well run Marina. It’s been that way for a long time. It exhibits the level of commitment that the membership shares, always raising the bar. It’s a testament to the leadership in management that presides there. When Cliff Lewis retired this past year, the search began for a new GM. The search was a success.
Enter Michael Burns. Michael took over in June of 2017. He hails from Indiana originally and has spent the last 35 years right here. Michael and his family live right across the river in Hudson, WI., but Michael knows Bayport. He spent several years utilizing his engineering knowledge in research and development at Andersen Windows. Along the way he earned an Executive MBA at St. Thomas University and put those skills to use in other leadership positions within the Manufacturing sector. In his position at Bayport Marina, he says his focus in on “operational excellence and enhancing the customer experience”. Given the amount of success and leadership experience Michael has earned thus far in his career, there’s a very good chance he’ll get it done.
So, if you’re visiting Bayport, looking for transient dockage, at Mallard’s having a bite, or attending one of the great Marine Max events there, stop in and say hello to Michael. See what Bayport Marina, “The Marina that Thinks It’s a Resort” has to offer.
We welcome Michael to our “river community” and wish him the very best at Bayport Marina.
